    Michael Wilk:

He helped me with transition ideas and solutions to the videos that are projected behind us when we play. Here's an example as recorded by an audience member...

My deepest condolences to his family and close relatives...Larry will be in my thoughts every time I use MC.

Good to see the Wolf is still howling, Michael. Keep on rocking, Brother. Larry wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

I haven't been on this forum for some time and I only learnt of this now. Truly shocked and saddened!

Although I didn't know Larry, he always came across as an absolute gentlemen who gave invaluable advice with the utmost professionlism.

Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

    RIP Larry.

Oh my goodness, I haven't logged here in a while and just found out about Larry.  He was the one who helped me get a version of an Apple operating system that wasn't available anymore.  He was a big help to me.  I remember borrowing something from him in which I needed to mail it back and I reimbursed him for the postage.  I'm very saddened to hear about this.  He will be missed.

    Re: In Memoriam Larry Rubin

I had the pleasure of having dinner with Larry's sister Nan the week I was in Boston.  She is a truely great lady who loved her brother very much.  We talked stories and memories... it was wonderful.   I then had the pleasure of heading to Cape Cod with my folks and I took a few hours on Saturday to meet with Larry's mom at her house.  We chatted about Larry and what he meant to us in the community and to people from around the world. Mrs Rubin showed me so many photo's of Larry at all ages and let me read the wonderful letter sent to her by the DMA (Pentagon Channel). I told her about WWLD (Randy's coined phrase - what would larry do) and she loved it.   She is truly a remarkable woman who just celebrated her 90's birthday and donesn't look it at all.

She has asked that I post this note from her to the Avid Community:

    Dear Friends,

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the beautiful bouquets of flowers sent from you in memory of my son, Larry Rubin. I also want to tell you how comforting it has been for me to read all the posts entered on this site about my son.

Larry never really spoke a great deal about his work, and your words have provided me with greater insights into who he was in this life.  Your words also have enabled me to better cope with this most difficult time.  I am so proud of my son.  A mother could not ask for more, and you have contributed in giving me this most precious gift.

My sincere appreciation and gratitude to you,

I for one know Larry is looking down on us.... he is probably miffed he's missing the MC 7 product launch but also is watching and seeing us ll come together.

Have a great rest of the week

Thanks Marianna for taking the time to pass on this "most precious gift" to Larry's Mom and Sister. And thanks for adding yet another dimension to our memories of Larry.

    Re: In Memoriam Larry Rubin

I was looking at the "Show Us Your Suite Baby" thread, and there is a picture of Larry's setup.  I was struck at how neat and orderly his physical suite was at the pentagon channel.  It really reflects his character, and the orderly fashion he went about resolving everyone's problems so selflessly.

I really do miss him, as do we all!

Have a great rest of the week

You too Marianna! I hope you have some time for a little R&R over the holiday weekend! You must be spent after the big launch!

Yeh, Larry is watching over us, alright . . . editing away on that big Media Composer in the sky! On such a holiday as independence day, Larry would always remind us never to forget those who serve our country, and those who made the utlimate sacrifice to acheive and maintain that independence.

I will never forget, and I will never forget Larry.

    Happy 4th everyone!
