adding clients to a fiber switch

definitely not Avid related but I figure that someone here will be able to help with this.

I'm connecting two new clients to an existing SAN through a fiber switch but I really don't know how to get the switch to see the clients. Is it normally a plug and play scenario or does a fiber switch require a more involved setup? I realize that different switches will be somewhat different but any general guidlines would help.

    Thanks.

Once the switch is configured properly, then yes, it IS plug 'n' play.  The ports can be programmed as either clients, drive arrays, etc.

With Avid compliant switches, Avid provides the correct firmware and confurgation files.
