ISIS 5000 Add NIC Card for Extra Clients?

Hello. Was wondering if anybody had any experience adding a 4 port nic card to an isis 5000 chassis? We currently have 4 clients direct connected to the isis 5000 via the onboard nic card. What i want to do is add another nic card to the chasis to get 4 more ports. is this possible? I was told that all we would need was a INTEL QUAD PORT Ethernet NIC i340, is that correct? I have no budget and no use for a force 10 switch as i only need to add a few more clients. Any help would be appreciated.

    thank you

With ISIS version 4.0, Avid added support for 4 additional direct connect clients via an optional Intel card. i340-t4 is the correct one, but I would check with Avid or your reseller as I am doing this from memory. Check the documentation for v4/4.2. It might be mentioned there.

What contact number is the best for talking to someone at avid about this?

Also here is another question, our isis has 16 1tb drives in it i was wondering if it would be possible to get 2tb drives and double our storage capacity? Could i just got western digital black drives or are their specific drives that i would need to do this?

    thanks

You can find the Avid Contact details here:

No - you will need Avid ISIS certified drives.
