Export of QT Ref - Codec problem...

I'm having problems with the exporting of QT Reference files in Avid MC6.  The audio is fine, but the video is white when I bring it into Sorenson Squeeze.  I tried re-installing the AvidCodecsLE2.1 codecs... not change.  I'm running QT 7.71.  Not sure what else I'm suppose to do.  I'm assuming it's a codec issue...

    Any help would be appriciated,
    -Richard

What format were the original files in?  How were they brought into MC?  Also please post your complete system specs.

    Thanks,

I was running MC5.5 last week and was exporting QT Ref files to Sorenson 7.  Had no problems.  Now with the upgrade to MC6 and SS8.0, I'm having these issues.

Re: Export of QT Ref - Codec problem...

The white screen is a giveaway for a missing qt codec.  I can't exactly recall if ex is the same, but with xdcam, if you export a qt ref from avic using native resolution, you cannot play the video.  You need to buy the calibrated software xdcam quicktime codec (http://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QXD.asp).  The white frame your are seeing means you don't have the codec installed.

If you do a video mixdown, or transcode the footage to dnxhd, you don't have the codec problem.

Now as to how you were able to export with no problems using 5.5... no ideas.

    Good luck.

Yeah you're right.  That installation of the codec worked.  Thanks for your help!
When I was talking about using MC5.5 to export files, the footage wasn't XDCAM. :)
