Avid MC 6.0.1 audio editing issues with Matrox MX02 Mini

    Hi All

I have recently upgraded to Lion OS 10.7.3 and the beta driver from the technical team at Matrox directly which was recommended to solve our issues, but still they are the same and I was wondering if anyone else has similar issues with the Matrox MX02 box?

We had this issue with 6.0.0 Avid MC and previous OSX version also. So since we upgraded at Christmas to V6 Avid we havn't been able to use the Matrox boxes with any of our machines, we've been using AJAs instead.

    Problem:

As soon as you open any project with the box turned on, and go to edit in the trim mode the beach ball appears then the error "Exception: BlipPlayer::NonThreadedPlayBlipField: Timed out waiting for a single frame player to stop. If scrubbing a complex sequence of un-rendered effects, consider rendering them for better performance." All the effects are rendered and it happens in all sizes of projects.

We have two boxes, and have tested this on many computers, all the same issues.

    Our Mac Pros are:

    8GB memory

    OSX Lion 10.7.3

    Avid 6.0.1

    Using ISIS

    MX02 MINI

Please let me know if you need any more information, I have taken this up with Matrox countless times as well as Avid.

    Many thanks!

    K

I suppose that all the media is on the Isis, what happens if you test with some media stored internally .

edited ..  another thing, I suppose you are in green - green mode , does it work better in yellow - green ?

Re: Avid MC 6.0.1 audio editing issues with Matrox MX02 Mini

    Hey Mjolnarn

We have just tested it today in local, and with a external drive media, with the same error. We are also working in yellow/green res in the sequence.

Its strange, I thought it might have something to do with the ISIS but that seems not to be it. As soon as the MX02 is unplugged theres no issues with the audio trim mode.

    Thanks

The beta driver is still pretty unstable. I reverted back to the 3.0.0.0071.

I don't know how aware you are about this but there's a pretty hard glitch with the new open I/o architecture and there are no short term fixes. Avid needs to update it to fix this problem.

Matrox is trying through this beta test, to improve its performance. It has fixed some issues but it is still way far from the performance on 5.5.

I've been very vocal about this issue because it renders my matrox box useless. At least, there is now some response from Matrox and I hope Avid addresses this as soon as possible.

Yes, you show up in every thread about this, both on the Avid boards and the Matrox boards

To the OP, have you tried with upgrading to the 10,7,3 certified 6,01,1 ?
