Firewire decks not recognized by MC 5.5

    Relevant System Specs:

System: Mac Pro (2011), Snow lepoard, FW 800 ports only, Media Composer 5.5.2, Matrox MXO 2 Mini for client monitoring
    Decks: Sony DSR-25 & DSR-1600

The problem is when I hook up either of the decks (only every hook up one at a time), they show up in the system profiler, but the Avid does not see them. I am using a converter on my firewire cable to go from 400->800.

I have a identical machine, minus the Matrox MXO 2 Mini, that sees all these decks fine as generic devices even using the converter from 400->800. The Matrox MXO 2 doesn't have any firewire on it, so I wouldn't think it would cause any problems, but at this point I have no idea.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

When you say "doesn't see them" are you referring to audio/video or control, or both?

Both. I use the auto configure deck option in the digitize tool and nothing happens. I also tried manually adding it using the deck configuration setting window, but again nothing.

Just click on the Matrox ikon below the sequense viewer so that it is switched to 1394 instead

That was it! Thanks so much. For anyone else having this problem you can change it under the Special menu, and then go to device. It will list the MXO2 and IEEE, switch to IEEE.
