We’re less than a week away from the start of the 129th AES Convention in San Francisco, and today on the Buzz Blog we’re going to look at the excitement surrounding Avid’s latest professional Pro Tools audio solution - the revolutionary Pro Tools HD Native.

If you haven’t heard, Pro Tools HD Native allows users to create complex, high-quality audio productions using the full capabilities of Pro Tools HD software in a less expensive host-based solution. Pro Tools HD Native represents a new generation of PCIe-based Pro Tools that harnesses the power of your computer to deliver the lowest latency and highest stability of any native system out there. And with guaranteed high track counts, plus groundbreaking low latency, you can tackle bigger productions more confidently than ever before with a native workstation.

There’s been some great enthusiasm on the blogs about the release, and David Weiss over at Sonic Scoop took the time to sit down with Avid’s Paul Foeckler and Tony Cariddi and dive right into the design, development, features, and philosophy behind HD Native, and I think it’s a great way to catch up on the buzz surrounding this groundbreaking release. Check it out here. Perhaps while your on the plane (or the BART) making your way to the show next week.

And if you missed the announcement about our Twitter contest, read up on it here. You could win a Pro Tools recording solution just for sitting in your studio retweeting next week. You read that correctly. Sit + Retweet furiously = Win. Check out the rules and start limbering up your tweet-typing fingers now for the contest kickoff on Thursday.

Keep checking the Buzz Blog for more info and features as we count down the days till we see you in San Francisco.
